Pirates of the Poop

Tagged as: ,

I'm a bit tired of movie headlines and the "news" it feeds to shows or newscasts about box office records. Like this week's news about Pirates of the Caribbean II-

It broke just about every box office record. In fact, it even did better than initially thought. Early estimates from Disney said that the film took in $132 million in its first three days of release across North America. The latest report from Variety brings the tally up to $135.6 million for the weekend. link

I don't want to hear about box office records anymore unless two things are done- or more appropriately two key stats are produced:

Without those two items, shows like Extra!(*) and ET should stfu about stuff. The stats would also be better for historical comparisons. Like Star Wars v Indiana Jones v Spiderman ticket comparisons.

*I should note I'm not as harsh on Extra! because I don't normally get it on my cable-less tv w/o adjusting the rabbit ears, oh and because I went to school with hostess Dayna Devon. Go Mules!

Since I'm rambling, I think the movie theaters should allow Fandango to do variable pricing as suggested here - it'll help offset some lame fandango service charges and maybe entice me to see more movies I wouldn't normally want to see.

SA readers: is there still the Nakoma $1 theater in SA? I can't remember
