Mmmmeat

appetizers 1Remember a while back when I wrote about some good crack? Well, the crack keeps flowin, or is it tumbling?

A while back I had told Kevin and Lisa I'd cook for them (at their place) for their bdays - actually I think I said I'd cook two meals, one would be a curry dinner a la Brad, and the other would be whatever was good on the day they picked. So on Saturday, it was time to pay the piper.

Mmm, I love cookin'.

I picked up some good meat at the Golden Gate Meat Co on Friday along with some other sundries (sausage, ham, Red Hawk cheese etc) and Saturday morning I put things together to take to the sunny East.

One thing I had wanted to make for a while was some side dishes of garlic in the style that La Cabrera makes in BA. I was a bit worried because my notes on the recipe from one of the waiters seemed a bit wrong (due to my translation) but it worked out well.

It's hard to see in the pics, but the garlic came out well -a nice combination of sweetness and mellow garlic. I wish I had made a bunch more. I'll email the recipe out if anyone wants it.

Anyway, good food, good friends, conversation, and wine (Weinert Malbec and Stefania Syrah).

Update- the pics from dinner are Lisa and Kevin's - not mine, I forgot to credit the photogs.

Update2- the hanger steak I wound up marinating in a marinade of sriracha (that red rooster hot sauce), garlic, and bourbon.
