Pirates of the Poop
I'm a bit tired of movie headlines and the "news" it feeds to shows or newscasts about box office records. Like this week's news about Pirates of the Caribbean II-
It broke just about every box office record. In fact, it even did better than initially thought. Early estimates from Disney said that the film took in $132 million in its first three days of release across North America. The latest report from Variety brings the tally up to $135.6 million for the weekend. linkI don't want to hear about box office records anymore unless two things are done- or more appropriately two key stats are produced:
- The number of tickets sold for a movie's release
- The number of screens on which it was shown

I thought "Pirates" was remarkably pedestrian.
Oh wait...you weren't actually reviewing the movie.

fandango
what annoys me most about fandango is that smaller theaters haven't quite embraced it. i mean smaller in comparison to the metreon or century 26,000 in daly shitty. i mean the kabuki, for chris sake. which is going to be the "sundance kabuki" soon. *sigh*. at least it's not going to be the "google kabuki" or some lame crap like that.
