Quick DVD Roundup 3/28

I mulled on what I wrote about yesterday. I won't be making any edits. I stand by what I wrote originally. If I want to raise a dvd's rating, I can do that after the fact in a separate post. Blah. Now that all that crap is out of the way, on to the movies. . .

Tibet: Cry of the Snow Lion - ***
Depressing, but very interesting. Not much to say about it.

I Walk the Line - *
coyote Yeah, Jamie Foxx is awesome in this, you totally believe he's blind and has a bad bad drug problem. But you get to see some of his genius behind the music. Well, not really, then it'd be a better movie.

When he gets splashed in the face with radioactive waste and has to start fighting crime it's . . .wait, wrong movie. Or is it?! Hrm. . .

Ray + Whitepeople = Daredevil - Piano = Bad Movie about drug addicts = Walk the line

Okay, when I point to this section of the stadium, I want you to scream OVER. Now you guys on this side, when I point over at you, I want you to scream RATED.

The Black Dahlia - **
Good looking movie, shot well, good eye candy for all (Hilary Swank, you look mmm mmm good), semi-quasi faithful to the excellent James Ellory book. But in the end, it's kinda cheesy and ham-handed. Not to give too much away, but Hilary's mom in the movie is a bit over the top.

Grandma's Boy - **
What's this? A movie review by request? Unheard of!

Yes, Tim wanted me to watch this and review it. So I said I'd subject it to the 3DMT™. Here goes-

You know I haven't liked most comedies. I don't know what's wrong with me, but most let me down. GB I'm rating as 3 2 asterisks.

Why? Is it brilliant? No. Is it formulaic? Yes. But surprisingly I did "heh" and "lol" a bit while watching it.

That alone is enough to get me to dole out the stars despite the stupid stoner humor. Stoner humor makes me want to punch someone in the face. Like that UPS guy. But like I said, something about the cute/quirkiness of GB and it's dirty-dirty one-liners made me giggle a bit.

Hustle and Flow - *
You know it's hard out here for a p-eee-emm-puh
When he trying to write reviews to get some Heh's
Because a whole lot of bitches talkin shit
And all this DVD just makes me say, "Meh"

Another over-rated pic. A f@#$!ing oscar? Are you kidding me? Terence Howard's worst movie (and worst acting job). Every other person in this movie was a better actor, err acted better? Whatever.

Alternate review for H&F:
Crazy movie, Jamie Foxx was totally believable as Eminem, and then they have to get this one song out there, they just gotta, and they get their chance and . . . oh wait, wrong movie. Or is it? Meh

Man, I feel like this guy today.
