Los Schwartzmans are Traveling
My folks are leaving today for Argentina again. Except this time they're going just a bit further south than they normally do. Although I think they'll be spending a bit of time in BA (and I hope they go to La Cabrera again), they'll be traveling further on to check out the southlands and then the glaciers in the national park. Sounds fun. On this map, the top yellow arrow is BA, the bottom one is where my parents are.

Los Schwartzman in BA
Well, the folks are off to Salta and Buenos Aires for a spell. They have rough plans to meet up for lunch or coffee with the South American Schwartzmans. That's a bit of a long story- but basically when the original Hermanos Schwartzmans were fleeing Eastern Europe long ago the twins broke up- one went to Texas, the other to South America. So supposedly we have peeps there. My Dad's been emailing all of the Schwartzmans he can find down there. I'm not sure if he emailed the Brazilian Schwartzmans too (yes there are some). It turns out that one of my coworker's Dad (from BA) has a really good friend who's a Schwartzman too. Not sure if he'll show up or if he even got an invite, but I'll ask the coworker to forward along the information. Other than that, they'll just be visiting Salta and eating Steak and Italian food. Mmmmm. Si tu apellido es Schwartzman, escribame y puedo dar tus datos a mi padre- o sea "vos" -- Uds no dicen "tu". Funny, but a tad morbid?
So Kevin went down south to visit his brother. They flew to BA for a few days to have some fun. He sent an email:

Kenneth,
You are the best. We just got back from B.A. and had
a wonderful time. The first night, while sitting in
front of La Cabrera sipping champange, Brad says,
"its like Kenneth died and we are celebrating his life
eating at all his places." It was so damn funny. We
poured a bit of champange on the street for you and
toasted you each sitting. I'll try to get picts out
today or tomorrow. We just got home from the airport.
Scuba diving in Zappalar at 10 am tomorrow. Gotta
unpack, repack and get up early for the lovely 2 hour
drive.

More South America Pics
Jodi graciously sent me her photos from our trip (my camera had died). I copied the CDs so I have the pics, and I'll organize and update the page here.
Most of the pics that were "missing" were the ones I took at Undurraga when I hijacked Jodi's camera and took about 400 pictures of the vineyard and winery. (boring to 99.99% of you).
But until I finish uploading the pics, I put a few up on my Flickr account in one set for you to enjoy. Cuy!

More Pics
I put up a good chunk of pics today. They're in this subfolder in the pics section on the site. There are subfolders in some of them so be sure to explore around.
Starting later this week, I'll post some notes on where we went and what we did as well.
I should have more pics later this week too because Jodi didn't get all her pics off her camera, just some Chilean pics. So hopefully I'll have more Polo pics and pics from La Cabrera and Rigoletto, where we went for Thanksgiving. And hopefully the ubiquitous mate pics.

I'm Back
I'm back from Chile and Argentina. I had a great time on vacation. I think Jodi and Gretchen had fun too, at least they told me they did. Pics will be up during the week along with blog posts. My camera died during the trip, so I only have a few to add on Monday. Jodi and Gretchen let me use their cameras though, so whenever I get copies of their pics, I'll put them up too. Hopefully it won't be too long to get the copies, there are some good ones in there. . . One other thing, coming back from Summer to a cold and wintery SF sucks.
